Venom's SP2 Butt Tentacles

As the title suggests, when Venom does his SP2, it looks pretty good for the most part. Three rending swipes, followed by a flurry of tentacle attacks. But then the tentacles retract back into Venom and, particularly on a knockout when everything slows down, you see where they go:
This big lumpy mass attached to his butt, which then disappears shortly after the animation is completed.
Now, unless it is intended that these tentacles do, indeed, sprout from his butt, which would lead me to wonder about his diet, could this lumpy mass be moved to his shoulders or back?
