constantly improving animation

one thing i love about this game is that the animation is constantly improving. not sure when this started happening but after loki's sp1, there is a purple electricity cloud that lingers where it connected with the opponent. looks really cool. another one is that iceman, in his info page, looks so much like a slightly melting, glistening ice sculpture. maybe these examples were always like this and i wasn't perceptive enough to notice it before, but the artists working on this design are really amazing.
