As you guys can see, LOL is not hard enough as is. An AI difficulty increase was needed, one that breaks game mechanics in terms of recovery time.

Sarcasm aside, is it reasonable to ask if these reappearing AI recovery bugs are going to be addressed in the upcoming 17.0 update?

That first one has been happening to me a lot lately. Not in LOL but in other quests. Cable did it to me after a heavy where his tentacles weren’t even fully retracted before he threw out his L1.
On the second, example you posted, honestly it looks like you miss timed you special ever so slightly. Your timing seems to be off with your last medium hit and the bad timing continues with your special execution.

Here’s the 2nd clip in slow motion. If it still looks like I mistimed Star Lord’s sp2 can you provide footage of what you think is the correct timing?

The first one is just part of the game. Test it out yourself, you can throw a special at any time during a heavy attack. Sometimes if they are blocking, and i have a champ with a multi-hit heavy, I will chain the heavy into a special.

And the second one, that’s just poor timing. Sorry but there are enough bugs throughout this game. However, this is not one of them. Keep practicing my friend!

2nd one was bs, first one is legit. You can throw specials in the middle of heavies

You’re right about players being able to activate specials mid-heavy attack, though AI utilizing that strategy is something that has been occurring only recently.

@Kabam Wolf has acknowledged that this kind of bug can happen to Dr. Voodoo when he attempts to chain his sp2 after a 5-hit combo, my goal with this post is to show that the AI's recovery time can break game mechanics outside of only Dr. Voodoo's sp2. Here're some screenshots and video footage of this issue with Dr. Voodoo:

I also took screenshots of the moment I activated Star Lord's sp2 after landing a 5th combo hit and did the same for Dr. Voodoo from the above video footage. They appear to be very similar:

@MattScott @Bigdogbob If you guys can give specifics about how my timing with Star Lord's sp2 was off, please let me know.

    SImple your timing wasn't off

    His timing was off.
You posted voodoo videos. I can tell you from years of playing starlord sp2 is just fine. And voodoo sp2 has been non-chainable since day 1.

By my experience, AI can't use throw specials in the middle of heavies. but that part was still legit. he attacked too late after the heavy ended.

on the 2nd, no clue. i don't see the any bad timing on that one. i might be wrong.

Yes of course. Voodoo sp2 has definitely been non-chainable since day 1

  • two problem, 1 is lag, the enemy is 0.3 seconds ahead of where you think he is, so when you charge he have already started his unstoppable heavy, you just dont see it as your pictures are behind.
2, collision detection sometimes failed, but it is often when smaller models like spiderman vs bigger models like hulk and venom, hits and counters pass through their body doing 0 dmg and leaving you open for counter from enemy

@buggysitehaveaccont It's hard to follow your writing, but I agree with your first point. I evaded UC's heavy attack just a bit late, his sp1 didn't break game mechanics, but the AI using sps in that way was nonexistent until recently. I think I get what you're saying with your second point too - that champion size can affect how attacks register? That's interesting and I've never heard anyone bring that up before, you may be on to something.

@MattScott You haven't given any details/specifics to back up your opinion. My last post was long and unorganized, let me try to make this one more concise. Here're additional LOL video clips of Star Lord using his sp2 after a 5-hit combo with different sp2 trigger times:

    https://youtu.be/ARxyA0QrLks
    Timing #1 (Fastest)

    https://youtu.be/vkV4fsvyjIU
    Timing #2

    https://youtu.be/Q2nFE32eGNk
    Timing #3

    https://youtu.be/Kx4k7QJ_-Pc
    Timing #4 (Slowest)

The above videos are arranged from most immediate to least immediate sp2 activation after finishing a 5-hit combo. As you can see, the first three videos show different timings of Star Lord using his sp2 in LOL and connecting in each instance. The 4th video shows LOL Red Hulk blocking Star Lord's sp2 because it was used too late. Now I'll provide a link to the UC footage I posted earlier:

    https://youtu.be/t64HlKBDb4I

At worst, my timing with Star Lord's sp2 in the above video is faster than my timing with Star Lord's sp2 in Timing #3 video. If you still think my timing is off in the above video, can you explain how it could be improved?

@DTMelodicMetal i don’t know how the game works on a frame by frame analysis level. All i know is i have beaten UC in LoL multiple times. More than i would like to even admit. Probably 30? And never had any issues chaining s2. However, if you are, and on this one champ, rather than break it down frame by frame, would it not be easier to just to MLLLSP2 for this one champ?

That's the easy fix. Multiple players have reported bugs with AI recovery that at times seem to break game mechanics (https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/41246/major-issues-with-recovery-timings-dexterity-and-all-combat-mechanics-under-investigation/p1).

I posted this discussion to further contribute to what many have been saying for months, that AI recovery needs to be fixed. Another recent example is how 5.4.6 Ultron OG was able to instantly counter-attack after evading (https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/40345/act-5-4-final-ultron-boss-evade-bug-fixed/p1).

Bugs are often fixed because the community bring them to Kabam's attention. Hopefully this one doesn't fall into the category of LOL Agent Venom's incinerate timer activating by dexterity and gets addressed in a near future update.
