1) If it takes place after the infinity stones story with Thanos has concluded, The Grandmaster brings in Dr. Doom, Ultimate Reed Richards (The Maker), and Onslaught to help him stay in control of the contest.
2) Illuminati goes all out to take down The Grandmaster by bringing in Professor X, Reed Richards, and Namor.
3) Grandmaster gets Carina back and helps the Illuminati to make good on his promise from the current Black Panther event quest.
4) Illuminati gains the upper hand so The Grandmaster brings in the Skrulls (Secret Invasion 2).
5) Doom does what he does best (i.e., Secret Wars) and takes control of the ISO-Sphere, which sets up Act 7 and starts off the next long-term story arc.
