Grandmaster Shard Crystals

Why is it that the only place that we can get Grandmaster Shards from is the daily calendar? I'd like to see them included elsewhere in game, probably in the monthly event quest as rewards. It would also be cool to get Grandmaster shards instead of PHC shards wherever PHCs can be earned...
On the subject of shard crystals, I'd also like to be able to purchase Featured Crystals with PHC shards, 3* shards, 4* shards, and Grandmaster Shards. For example, I'd like to be able to purchase a Featured Crystal for 3000 PHC shards, a Featured 3* Crystal for 3000 3* shards, etc. Would make shard crystals much more fun to open.
