Homophobic censoring in global chat

See, that reasoning is where it gets sketchy for me. Excluding those terms because other Countries don't accept it would be supporting those ideals. Not that I believe that's the reasoning. I happen to know they respect and support all people because I spoke about it before and had a private conversation. Just pointing out that if that was the case, that would be passively taking a stance.
I really wasn't going for being rude. I'm just very strong in my word choice sometimes. My apologies.
My point in that is the subject of sex doesn't even come up in gameplay. It's not in the Storyline, and the closest we come is eluding to the relationships. "It's Complicated, Romance". Global is Public Domain. They try to keep it as clean as possible. Bottom line is, it's not the place for a sex talk. Now, I know there are all kinds of thirsty people in there and I feel the same about that. It's also played by people full of hormones. Lol.
2: I’ve had “It” censored and several F bombs go through fine.
Hello ShadeZero,
I’m sorry to hear you are disappointed in the way the global chat filter handles certain words. While you are right in that those words are not inherently bad, there is, unfortunately, a high likelihood of them being used in an inappropriate manner in game. It is important to us that players be shielded from those potentially negative interactions when possible.
The system that we use to facilitate and moderate our in-game chat is one that is continually “learning” and refining what it does and does not moderate. It doesn’t look at words on their own, but the context in which they are often used, and will choose to censor some terms if they are constantly used in a manner that could be deemed offensive or hurtful.
While discussions about representation and diversity that might include those words are awesome, global chat isn’t really the best venue for those conversations.
Our team is a very diverse group of people, and at Kabam we strongly feel that representation and diversity are important. Our continual goal with our chat filters is not to suggest something is wrong or bad, but to reduce the number of insults, slurs, and inappropriately sexual conversation that can occur in an online chat venue. We mean no ill intent, insult or suggestion of anything else negative surrounding sexual orientation. Summoners are equally as diverse and we support all of our players!
Hope that helps to clarify some of the areas of your concern.
