Nope they always release the update the day before a new event quest kicks in as this allowed them to see if any bugs have made it to the current update build

As stated in the changelog, the 20.0 update will go live tomorrow September 5.
How come august update was released a day earlier but not this month?
Some people just want to live dangerously.
Last month it was on a Wednesday, this month it is as well.
Unless you mean the app update itself, that was earlier last month. But that doesn't hold anything to the update going live though.
Nope, that’s fairly new by kabam. Out of the last 24 months + I’d say they have only released the update “early” 3-4 times. The rest of the time it was released same day as the new monthly event quest. Enjoy.
