Venom: Bug or Working as Intended?

I encountered Red Skull today and upon attacking into his block Immune popped up but so did 1300 energy damage... Is this a bug or am I missing something ? (I fought him in the Master Event Quest Chapter 3 Quest 2 HiveMind)

So I'm assuming it's not like Vision ? Dang thought he was the perfect counter

red skull is just awful chqmpion though lol, he does have some unique attributes but his damage is so awful along with champions like sparky ghost and especially corvus tear right through him and everyone now has a r5 corvus or sparky in tier 1/2 aw
