Why special 3 damage is so lame for some champ ?

I have seen that my many 4 star rank 4 champ's special 3 damage is so lame like 3k to 4k .
It's pretty disappointing .
While sp2 damage is like 5k to 6k.
Sp3 should deal more damage .

I think its fair...it does not require you to combine it or intercept an attack like sp1-2
just tap it and ta-da
all champs must have crappy sp3s if you ask me

You have to get a good timing to activate sp1 and 2 so the opponent won’t be able to block which in turn gives you good damage compared to unblockable and unavoidable damage which is sp3 gives less damage.

But some champs do have exceptional damage in sp3 like domino Hyperion with furies etc

Yep, as noted above - the SP3 is unavoidable and unblockable; hence making it overpowered would seriously disadvantage the opponent.

A few SP3s are very effective (Hyperion, Magik and Thor spring to mind) whilst others are seriously underpowered (Joe Fixit, Moon Knight, Gamora). You do have to experiment with the champs to know how useful it is; if at all. Joe's is especially weak - there's a moderately good bleed effect following; but the damage is feeble against a bleed-immune champ.

If fighting with champs that rely on critical damage (Gamora and Cyke being important examples), you should try to make sure they use their SP2 before being pushed to an SP3. They can't get criticals on SP3, and their Sig won't apply to it.

Vision is a very special case, as it's his only special attack that deals any physical damage; so it's the only attack that benefits from Power Shield or Life Transfer nodes. His SP1 and 2 do zero actual damage (the damage comes a fraction of a second later, from the Power Burn) so don't gain any benefit from nodes like this; aren't affected by Boosts, and can't be critical.

Overall, that's not a disadvantage; as Vision's SP1 and SP2 damage also isn't affected by weakness, armour, safeguard, Ice Armour, Plot Armour and so forth.

It all depends on the Champ and what their mechanics are. Some Champs are different. Special 3 isn't always the most powerful.

And, you have Mr. SP3, og Hulk. Low health SP3 is a finisher. How many times I couldn't bait his sp1-2 and got whammed to death by his sp3.

Sometimes, the sp3 is not very good if you don't build something around it.
Hype's sp3 is good with some fury buff or 2nd/3rd one, but, first one, w/o buff, is average.

Special attacks are favored mostly for the effects they bring in anyway. Without any effects, the only reason sp3 is good is that it can't be avoided

To further the point:

GR is very dependant on his sp3 in longer fights. Without it, you couldn't reset his judgments.

Another is ST. If you end with an sp3, you carry over a very powerful fury.

I think Hulk, Gambit, Storm (duped) and Cyclops are the few where their sp3 does superior damage with all the benefits of their other specials.

I barely use sp3 anyway. Sp2 is better for continuing a combo and has better damage than most SP3

VTDs S3 is the best in the game when he has all 10 buffs stored.
Most S3s would be used for the effect that comes after it, Thor Ragnarok springs to mind here

Need to learn your champs better and what the SP3 is intended for. SP3 isn’t always a good option on some champs and on others while low damage their is a utility affect you are looking for. Some though are high damage that you want to take advantage of.

This game isn’t as straight forward as just raw damage all the time so that is why there are discrepancies between say Domino sp3(raw damage/bleed) and GR sp3(placing and reseting judgements) and Magik(nullifying all buffs on opponent for XX damage per buff nullified).

Thor with a couple armor breaks or hulk with rage have great sp3. Hyperion w/fury stack. Awesome.
Then some champs like guillotine they need to be avoided. Never go past Sp2.
Characters are all different. Sig levels. Dupe. All factors. Like duped storm. Sp2 hits a crit. Insane damage. Like high sig SW.
Still don’t beat sp2 crit from SL with high combo. Hit over 50k with my 5*.

Wasp with a high combo can do a ton of damage with sp3. Gr needs it to shut down buffs and power gain and reset judgments, sym supreme nullifies all buffs and becomes crazy powerful after it's over. The sp3 is about activating things a lot of times.

I wonder what the most damaging SP3s are? It's a bit situational; but as an example of a really good SP3, I've done 47,000 damage on an SP3 from 4/55 Magik on a Venom boss in Uncollected EQ; who was stacking extra buffs from an Adaptive node.

No boosts, no suicides. Imagine what a 5/65 would have done!

I mean, to be fair, sp3 is just supposed to be a cinematic move. Sure, it's supposed to do a lot more damage than sp1 and sp2, but if it was a multiplier of the damage of other specials (meaning 3/2 of the power of a sp2 and 3 times the power of a sp1), then they'd be overly powerful. Plus, they're always unblockable and unevadable, which could be useful against autoblockers and evaders, and for newer players too.

To be fair though, sp3's are pretty lame, and sp1 and sp2 do the job more easily for most champs.

Some specials are intentionally weak. Mordo’s for example, because of the nature of how easily he gets his specials. It was made so it did less damage. Or so I heard. It makes sense, the anomaly is Hyperion I suppose...
