Testing A Theory: A Good Nickname Can Do Wonders?
Over the years, some champs in the game universally found to be without merit have been buffed here and there. Sometimes it seemed prompted by things outside of the game (like recently with Venom and Carnage, just as the Venom movie was released into theaters), but there are other variables... the one I would like to discuss here is the nickname.
Why was Luke Cage buffed when there were so many other champs just as mediocre?
I've got two words for you: Pillow Hands
It stuck. I can't remember who coined it (though I believe I first saw it on Reddit), but Luke Cage from that point forward was "Pillow Hands"...
And now he is, according to Seatin at least, "High Demi-God Tier".
So I'm thinking, if we come up with some really good nicknames for some lackluster champs, maybe they can get buffed too?
