Best strategy to buy 5 star heroes for beginners

I've saved up 9800 5 star shards. Currently I have 23 four-star heroes and have some of the top ones except for star lord. I've heard some players talk about waiting until November when the stronger heroes are released to purchase 10k shard crystals. Others say save and buy a 15k one of a strong champ. What's the best option for a beginner?

Don't by the 15k crystal until you have 6+ 5* champs.

If I were you I'd wait until October to open as that's when the odds of getting a good champ got to about 50/50. They go up each month after that.

If you are an arena grinder, I would buy 5* basic crystals and open immediately. If you are not an arena grinder it is your call as to whether to open immediately, open later, or save for featured. It depends a lot on how you play the game and how fast you earn 5* fragments.

Definitely wait, the champs added in July and August aren't too desireable for most.

I am personally waiting till December, that's the plan at least
