Roster progression beyond RNG for non arena players suggestions?

If you are not playing arena, it is pretty difficult or expensive if you want to play with the brand spanking new fancy champions. I still don't have aegon, champion, emma frost, venom the duck and anything that came after them. I was lucky enough to pull a symbiote supreme as a 4* but that's pretty much it. I wish there was another path to acquiring new champions other than grinding arena or waiting for months until you pull them. What could be some paths to be added that enabled such a thing?

I would suggest making the log-in champion be a 4* and follow the newly introduced champion order. What are your suggestions?

If you want them when they are released, you have to put in time and effort to grind for them or spend some money. If people knew they were going to be in the calendar many wouldn't bother spending money or time in the arena
