Cavalier Question: Updated GMC calendar

When does the calendar update to the 7 day GMC calendar? Is this something that should immediately update to the new calendar OR is this something like becoming uncollected where you have to wait out the 14 day calendar before it updates to the new one? I couldn't find anything in the search that answers this question.
