Sinister

Am I missing something, or is there an issue with Sinister? His Specials seem like you can't Evade them. Is it timing that I'm not used to? L1 and L2 both just come in unavoidable. Any explanation would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think its the timing. Both sp1 and sp2 can be evaded though sp1 transfers all debuffs and sp2 inflicts concussion even when they are evaded.
Personally I get caught up in sp2 beam more often cause of its delay.

Ok. I'll have to practice then. I'm in Epic Fury, and no matter when I time it, I get sniped. Frustrating. Lol.

Timing matters especially on the L1. The closer you are to Sinister the quicker you have to evade. The projectile seems to move more slowly the further away from him you are.

Ah. So it's disntance. I'm always Evading from afar. I knew about the Debuffs transferring. The Beams both clip me everytime. I wasn't sure if that was bug-related or just my lack of practice with him.

If you’re always at a distance from him, chances are you’re evading too early. I did that too the first few times I fought him until I got down the timing.

That's what I thought so I started playing with the timing of when I Evade, like other Champs. No matter when I Evade, I het hit. That's why I thought I would ask. Just before it hits, when he releases, in the middle....same. I'll get it I suppose. Thanks for the info.

Got him down to 17% with AA. I'll have to Rev just to take him down then practice another time. Lol.

The sp2 lag always prevents me from evading the beam
  • GroundedWisdomGroundedWisdom Member Posts: 36,921 ★★★★★
Ah, so there IS lag with it. Ok. I thought so. Thanks.

Well it lags for me at least. Saw a video on YouTube and there wasn't any lag, but even then the guy couldn't fully evade the sp2

I had a feeling something was off. That gives my hunch more credence. Thanks.

I dash back from Sinister's SP1 pretty much right when the beam hits me. Works like a charm.

Ok I'll try it closer to impact. Thanks.

Not sure about that L2 though.

L1 is easy to evade. L2 you can't evade the final beam I guess.

The sp2 is harder to fully evade, bu possible. Is similar to bishop sp2, but I get clipped by it far more times

Ok. Thanks. Still seems buggy to me.

Use NC and you don't have to worry about timing the evades right. Also, his sp2 is completely evadable, just treat the beam like Cyclops' sp1 and dash back at the final moment. Practice in duels and you'll get him.

    Ok. I'll try that. Thanks.

SP1 and 2 are both completely avoidable, but the effects are not.

With the first special attack you're going to get all Damaging Debuffs transfered to you, even if you avoid/evade both parts. Just like with SP2 you're going to get Concussion applied to you.

For SP1 think of it like OG Hulk's SP1. Dash back for the initial moment/lunge and create distance, then wait and dash back again to avoid the wave. Just like OG Hulk. You dash back from the slam, wait and then dash back to avoid the rock.

For his SP2 Bishop is pretty much the best comparison, the timing is SLIGHTLY different, but it's overall very similar in animation and evasion. You avoid the initial kick, wait for the charge up and then dash back again as he brings his hands forward for the beam attack.

If you'd like I can make some clips of evading his SP1 and 2?
