New AW Season....could use a refresh to the system

I think it be fun to remove diversity again, Paths were more fun and challenging when you'd have to fight the toughest defenders to get to the boss this watered down version with diversity really took the fun out the the game mode and took a lot of the skill out of the equation. I miss mystic wars and tough defenders everywhere.

I don't think this will ever happen. With diversity, it incentivizes collecting champs other than just the gods. Removing diversity basically rewards the rng gods, diversity forces another element of strategy and team building.

They attempted to remove diversity and everyone who ranked up a **** champ complained.

I feel like if they gave out a rank down gem everyone would be okay with it. Maybe the new AW season won't have us place defenders and have a map set up that changes each war. Move away from the current system that clearly doesn't work right and make it more like the current AQ system.

No interest in seeing all 5/65 things, havoks, korgs, etc. not saying it can’t be cleared, will just make wars more expensive. Diversity needs to stay or more and more people will stop caring about AW. Especially considering some of the ridiculous node combinations in the beta.

The big spenders and best war teams are getting tired of war. I'm talking seasons champs and consistently top 5 and top 10 teams.

Diversity is barely even a metric at this point. People place the same Defenders for the most part either way. Mystic Wars aren't even a thing anymore now that MD has changed.

Plat2-3 normally we took last season off no items and placed gold1 top 20 i think and that was with skipping lanes at times.

Diversity is boring thats the point. Too many easy defenders even with tough nodes easy defenders are easy. I 100% Act 6 ch1 with 15 revives only so I'm a fairly skilled player.

We don't even pay attention anymore. Our Diversity is fair, but Attack Bonus is worth more. If you can stop them up, better chances.

Everyone agrees war is broken. No one agrees on the right way to fix it. For every person that would like any change you make, there's probably three that would hate it. It is impossible to make war be what everyone wants, you have to make it something the fewest people involved hate. And while diversity wasn't well-liked when it was first introduced, that was because there was no counter-balance to diversity. Now that attack bonus points counter-balance diversity, while both aren't well loved in terms of their mechanics both act to provide enough of a hedge against the other to make the total system acceptable. While there's lots of room for improvement, it is clear any attempt to improve the system will have to work in the same way, by counterbalancing two different changes in a way that allows for a significant amount of room to strategize around.

The "war is boring" people are never going to win; the "war is a cash grab" people are never going to win. War is always going to have to find a compromise between the two extreme positions.

The problem with this is that with the level of defenders there right now, removing Diversity will make it too RNG dependant and those who have bad luck will be severely punished. Which flat out sucks.
