I have plenty of 4 and 5 star champs but was wondering if there is any point in ranking up 1-3 star champs is there an actual benefit

Only if you use them in Arena or level them to get to certain milestone in 22H solo level up event.

I do it for fun sometimes, I max rank all my 1* champs cause it's cheap and only require t1 cats, if 2* on my roster can be maxed ill do it as well cause it's cheap. 3* I've kind of stopped until recently when I max ranked my medusa simply because she's my most wanted champion and I still don't have her as either a 4 or 5* star so this was the next best option.
