Alliance war defence

Hello all, so my ally and I are trying to become superior and to do so we’re going to (eventually) need to sort our diversity. This is a problem for when we climb the tiers but it’s always good to be prepared. On our defence is it across the 3bgs that all have to hold different champions or is it per bg? So either 150 different champs across the 3 bgs or 50?
