AI parry in the MIDDLE of a special Attack

Hi everyone, i was playing with medusa against x23 and when I launched SP1 It seemed like my hits were pushing x23 away, and I get PARRIED IN THE MIDDLE OF A SPECIAL ATTACK
Same problem happened with omega red SP2 against Falcon, the AI parried at the end of the special (the last two hits with tentacles)
In both cases i made a 5 hit combo (MLLLM) and all hits reached the opponent and even the special Attack reached the opponent (and the the problem started)
Can someone explain me why Is this happening?
