When I’m supposed to suffer but defender gets debuff instead

I’ve ran into a few fights where I’m battling the defender (as all summoners are). But while some go by normally, a few have included the opponent using their sp3 move and they die because the debuff that I should’ve received, they did instead.

So ... the opponent causes you a debuff on their special 3, and that debuff is applied to them instead of you?
That's something new, but you're probably mistaking things here. We need more info about who were you using, against who, the nodes, etc.

I played against black panther og and his 3* was used and instead of me getting the bleed debuff, he bled to to death instantly

When the opponent (example: Black Panther OG) used Sp3 move, sometimes they died from the debuff I was supposed to receive (example: bleed).
