Kabam lets fix Green Goblin?

Pre-Release Kabam Miike & the developers advertised this champ as one of the best and most reliable power control champs, however upon release his power draining abilities seem to be lacking and might deserve some initial tweeking.

Maybe bringing him up to par with champs like Vision & Hawkeye and allowing him to power drain 100% of the time would be a perfect balance at at the cost of maybe 7% power instead of the original 8% ?

Can we make this happen? ;)

So, I have a Green Goblin and actually love the character.

He has lower damage primarily because his crit damage is unusually low. Can't really tell on the specials so far because only special 1 is working properly.

IMO, what I would do to fix him is raise his crit damage and give him a chance to proc Shock, and then when an opponent is shocked his attacks have a chance to power burn the opponent.

Having said that, I'm not sure why everyone is hating on his power control. He doesn't always power drain, but he has a high chance to proc it on his special 1 and an extra chance to proc it on every super bomb. However, what makes him a power control champion is as long as you have a Cunning charge (when you reach your first power meter) the enemy generates less power. That's always up and 100% of the time as long as you can get the charge and keep it even with madness, and it's not hard. I've been playing all week and usually a typical fight you land up with even 2 Cunning/Madness charges and if it ever gets switched up and you want to even them out just adjust your play-style.

His other procs have pretty good chances as well (90% chance to inflict weakness on the special 1 for example and 100% chance to incinerate and 85% to poison on the special 2), but his power burn chance on his special 1 and the chance to proc his super bombs could both be higher.

Green Goblin is a decent champion he has a very strong sp2 but overall average damage and his power control mechanics frankly aren't as strong as advertised. For power control champs to be good they need a certain degree of reliability. All champions known for their power control mechanics (Magik, vision, dormammu) all are very reliable. Green goblin has too much randomness to his power drain and not enough payout most of the time, his sp1 only draining 8-16% power on average which is very low compared to other champions. Powerdrain is much more valuable than power gimp because in circumstances where power control champs are the a good option most of those circumstances involve not wanting opponents to use special attacks(unblockable special nodes, juggernaut, impossible to evade fully specials) ,always having low power (Wolverine, deadpool) or having passive power gain ( Mordo, hyperion) and current power drain champions deal with these scenarios better than power gimp champions. Power gimp champions still allow their opponents to use specials and get to high power levels if opponents are difficult to bait even though its at a slower pace. While green goblin is good for match up for magik it isn't enough for him to be better than visions, hawkeyes, dormammus and magiks. If his sp1 was changed to 75% chance to proc a 10% power drain that would make him much more reliable and more in tune to other power control champions.

    @Sungj ,

I agree, that's basically what I was saying though. Is that his ability to reduce power gain reliably is what made him be marketed as a power control champion.

I would love it if his special 1 had better power burn. He could certainly use a buff somewhere.

It would have been nice he was science also, but I think that ship has sailed lol.

I can't believe how strong you hyped up this champ but the outcome was just really bad. His abilities sound pretty cool and add something new to it, but that doesn't overcome how weak he is. How can you say best power control champ ever if even Beast is better at it. He's probably one of te weakest hitting champions i ever played with. He needs some big changes. Maybe make his incinerates last longer and add a powerlock ability to his specials. He's a bad defender and a bad attacker. It's just sad to see a that well known and loved Marvel character go to sh** again. How can you make someone like Gwenpool so strong with overall godlike abilities and hard hitting, and then make someone like Green Goblin hit like a wet nuddel. I don't want to keep complaining but it seems like wasting tons and tons of 5* shards and hours in the arena. I love his design and playstyle but he's just a weak version of other champs and doesn't do the job and surely doesn't live up the hype you gave us and promised wordings.

It seems like they are betting on popular characters pulling in the $ purely from fan favoritism as opposed to being good.

I don't like this trend. A lot of unknown characters being so strong while fan favourites like goblin and carnage being absolute garbage.

It would be nice to play this game and use the characters you want to instead of being forced to use characters they made OP to bring up their popularity and increase comic book sales.

Well, it depends on your expectations.

Mine were for a debuff champ with a toolbox kit and a lot of potential regen and I got that. If you wanted a super power control champion then you would have been let down.

He's not god tier and could use some help, but he's not awful.

He was just released. Can we really gauge that he needs improved yet? The problem with focusing on one aspect of the game is we don't always see the overall picture and balance of a Champ.
