AQ: disconnection = die?

Whenever I disconnected or the app accidentally close during fighting in AQ, my champ “died” instead of deduct 50%health.
I found this happened to some players in our alliance, but another players in our alliance just half the health. Is it a bug? Or because of other reasons?
