How good is darkhawk unduped?

I already have an unduped sentinel at rank 4 who may be going to rank 5 this week but still havent decided. I just pulled a DH but I heard he needs to be awakened and at a high sig. Should I still invest in him and get him to rank 4(havent explored variant 1 chapter 2 fully yet). I also have a generic gem but idk if DH is worthy of one.

I've pulled a 4* and I invested an awakening gem and a lot of resources to max him out. The problem is the start of the fight: until the SP3 the damage he deals is kinda underwhelming. Luckily he has very good crit rating & damage (even better than Blade) so it isn't that bad. You can opt for the SP2 but stealth mode is mostly useful defensively, not offensively. He lacks utility: he heal blocks only at the SP3 (but it is a very long one), he has no armor break or power control and his SP1 is useless. The synergy with Night Thrasher is determining: you start the fight in a mode and with the Venom/GR synergy you might gain enough power to two bars so you can switch modes and trigger regen for sustainability. Overall, he's a better defender than attacker.

I have been testing my darkhawk (5r3 with like 75 sig) for a long time now and was on the verge of taking him to r4 for quite a while but something always held me back. He is a nice champ he has some nice regen, damage and a bit of utility. My biggest issue is he kinda needs way too much to be a good champ. He needs high sig. He needs his synergy with NT (that's the main reason i think i was hesitating to r4 him, that one extra spot in my team was too much since my nt is unawakened) or he takes too long to start actually working as he should. I got my sentinel a few days ago toyed with him a bit and decided to r4 him and awaken him over darkhawk quite easily. He pretty much does what darkhawk can do (i was surprised how close they are damage wise on longer fights) just out of the box and he has quite a bit more utility on top (armor break, easier healblock, shock and incinerate).
So in my opinion overall sentinel is better, doesn't need the extra stuff darkhawk needs and he is a much better choice for v3 and v2. Finally since you already have a r4 sentinel i don't see why you would invest in a 2nd champion that can do similar stuff (double immune robot with healblock, some regen, about similar damage) unless you swim in t2 and don't have anything better to get to r4.
