JUMP THE BOSS or CLEAR AS MUCH AS WE CAN? AW Strategy

BG2 has way too many tough ones randomly placed, we're gonna lose a lot of our heavy hitters. I'm thinking about following the easiest path, knock off nodes and Jumping the boss, but if that's unsuccessful, we risk clearing and Explore rewards. It doesn't look like they'll beat our boss but will clear everything else (only 7 of us placed), what do you suggest?
