Special Nexus Quest Questions

Can someone provide some clarification toward the Special Nexus Quest (day 6 and 7).

Is that quest 1 or 2 paths?
Does a path cost the same energy per step (2) and in total (18)?
If it's more than 1 path l, what is the breakdown of rewards between completion and exploration?

I'm trying to gauge if any of the easier difficulties are worth doing more than one path for the units.
