Gold+ Alliances

What kind of roster would be required from a gold 2+ alliance? Majority of alliances I see are silver 1, even some of the massive 20mil+ ones.

In the gold 1 alliance i was in, most people had at least 3 r4 5*s, with the exception of a few who had 1 or 2 r5s. Defense had r3 5*s or lowest 4/40 4*s.
So i would say at least 8 maxed 4*s or r3 5*s and higher should be good. (Defense and attack, more depending on AQ)
