Strange Bug in Monthly Event Quest - "Event has expired" and lost my progress

I was working on the Red Skull map of this month's event quest on Master difficulty.
I took the Stark Spidey route, and got as far as the King Groot.
After taking down the King Groot, I selected to move on to the next enemy, the Doctor Strange, but I experienced the red wifi symbol.
My phone was hot and my wifi is sometimes bad, so I thought nothing of it and closed the game entirely.
I return not 5 minutes later and try to continue my quest, but I get the "Event has expired" notice, that you often get from entering daily quests that have ended.
This is not as huge an issue as others have encountered, but wasting 22 energy and having to restart the mission was rather annoying. I think maybe a full energy refill or 5x 5energy refills would be a sensible compensation, but I will leave it to your discretion, Kabam.
