3 & 4 Star Champ Events & Quests

I recently became Cavalier. I'm now in a post Cav-state, where the remaining content is LOL, Variants and Act 6 completion. I'm burned out on the arena grind and just blow my units on Cavalier Crystals anyway. (hah) With gold becoming scarce, I've been hoarding resources for months, and minimize rank ups. I'm logging in far less, as taking on advanced/end game content means a major time investment to grind for units/ resources.. and again, I'm just burned on that experience.
Three and Four star champs are basically useless to me at this point in the game, other than arenas. But I have all these great champs I never rank up or use, though the characters would be fun to use.
My proposal/suggestion
More events and quests that require the usage of lower-tier champs. This would incentivize upgrading what are mostly now useless champs, and add value back to 3 and 4-star champs. These could vary each month, mixing it up so some months you have to use 3s, some 4s. It would provide variety as well as skill-based content.
Rewards
For this scenario I think a tiered reward system makes sense so that long-time players qualify for a different set of rewards than newer players. It wouldn't be fair for 5-star shards to be given out to new players after us long-timers had to grind it out. My suggestion would be based on where you were at with main story: Cavs qualify for 6-star shards, Uncollected for 5-star, and so on.
