The thing vs Doctor Doom UC boss

I've got a 4* thing, my highest shock immune champ, yeah my roster sucks, he is unawakened, but I do have a gem so I can change that, only have enough to get him to around sig 10.
Would it be worth investing resources into him, bringing him up to max rank to see if I can beat Doc Doom with him, or just try other champs?

Save your gem, Thing needs the sigs to make it really tanky.

Yeah, I'd say it depends on your other champs.

I took him down with this team fairly easily:
4* R5 Stark
4* R5 Nick Fury
4* R4 Quake
4* R4 Archangel
4* R4 Human Torch
