Face Me mechanic?

I’m pretty unfamiliair with Hulk Ragnarok, but as far as I understand his Face Me mechanic is that it is supposed to trigger on passive damage over time debuffs.......?
So I thought I’d try him in Variant 1, chapter 3.2. The most outer right path has a skill Drone with Degeneration. To me it looks like a passive debuff which is being inflicted, but Face Me does not seem to activate. Neither does the annihilus synergie which is supposed to give a passive fury buff whenever Face Me is active.
Am I misreading the degen node? Is it direct damage instead, if so how does a passive degen debuff look like? Or am I missing something completely else?

They belong to something that isn't either that or a debuff, and will eventually get updated to better differentiate them from those
Will have to find another way to go through those paths.
