Aegon’s combo shield being activated by auto-evade.

I need to do more testing, but one noticed in a few fights that Aegon’s combo shield is being triggered when a champion auto-evades an attack. I’ve noticed it against Quake and Miles. They evade my attack, but don’t hit me, and the combo shield, from proxima synergy, triggers. Only place I’ve paid attention to it was arena. Anyone else experiencing this?
