Domino's critical failure

So it says opponents take x amount of damage whenever their abilities fail to trigger. That's easy enough to understand but I was fighting her with corvus and kept get crit failure on critical hits even if the hit still crit. Also got a critical failire in a light hit. I know Domino's always been kinda weird with her sig ability but is there something I'm missing by using corvus?

Hmm yeah that's a good point. There's just so much stuff that interacts with other stuff in this game it gets a bit confusing sometimes. Well for me anyway lol 😅

But also if it was a true damage buff causing it, you'd think it would behave like a normal buff and trigger everytime he attacks.

Do you have Resonate mastery?

If so, you're probably failing to apply Weakness.

I was thinking the same thing, with the Resonate weakness failing to apply. That's one of my challenges with Domino fights, having that mastery.
