ow do war tiers work?

As the title says.

We're an alliance who have focused on AQ for the last 6 months and not paid any attention to AW. Having established and met our AQ goals, we're looking to work on the AW side.

Currently Gold 3, we're looking to get to Gold 2 for next season and currently have a 2.3 multiplier with our Tier 11 positioning.

Considering running a few off season wars to get that tier higher for the start of the season but not being able to deduce just how many wars/victories we might need.

We don't want to be full on in the off season, members deserve a break but wondering if anyone can offer any insight on this matter?

War tiers are determined by war rating. But since the tiers are based on what percentile (not sure I used that right) your war rating falls under it's hard to say what war rating gives you what tier.
If you're planning on moving up in war tiers the best thing to do is win. Tho it's harder to do in off season since the war rating won/loss is cut in half.
To get much notice I'm guessing you'd prolly need to win at least 4 of the 6 off season wars
