Sounds like he'll start with an sp3 on nodes where they start with 1 bar of power. Not good.

His signature ability gives him more Power to start but also starts him with his Rock Field active, which prevents him from launching Special Attacks. Because of this, he won't start the fight launching an SP3, but that extra Power will give him a longer lasting Rock Field at the start if he's on that node.
This doesn't seems to be clarified in the Spotlight unless I missed it somewhere. There is no mention of this under his Rock Field passive description, and the only note about not being able to use specials is under the Special Attack description saying he can't launch another special after he uses an initial special attack.

So just clarify, when Rock Field is active, the special attack bar will be grayed out completely?

Nevermind, just saw the video by MCOC Journal showing his special attacks. Looks like it does indeed get grayed out. I do think the description under his Rock Field passive should be updated in the Spotlight to reflect this though.

    Hey all,

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that we've corrected some information in this Spotlight.

    OLD:
While the Rock Field is active, nearby Opponents take up to 523.5 Energy Damage for every second the Rock Field has been active, every 0.5 second(s). This scales with Base Attack only.
    NEW:
While the Rock Field is active, nearby Opponents take up to 439.74 Energy Damage for every second the Rock Field has been active, every 0.5 second(s). This scales with Base Attack only.

    Heavy Attacks
    OLD:
If the Rock Field is active, this attack is a guaranteed Critical Hit, Terrax does not gain Power from this attack, but he gains up to 5235 increased Attack Rating based on how long the Rock Field was active. On hit, the Rock Field ends and consumes 100% of a bar of Power.
    NEW:
If the Rock Field is active, this attack is a guaranteed Critical Hit, Terrax does not gain Power from this attack, but he gains up to 1256.4 increased Attack Rating based on how long the Rock Field was active. On hit, the Rock Field ends and consumes 100% of a bar of Power.

    Hi miike,

    Two questions, if that's okay?

That sounds like a major reduction in the damage his Heavy attack will inflict! Is this actually a change, or was it originally a typo?

On hit, the Rock Field ends and consumes 100% of a bar of Power.

Secondly: ordinarily, if Rock Field is active, Terrax's Power is in the process of draining to zero; so losing a bar of Power doesn't seem like much of a loss at this point. Is a Heavy attack a means to terminate the drain early, and leave yourself a bit of Power?

Ordinarily this might not be very desirable, but if you're using Terrax to take down an opponent like Havok or CMM, I can see how it might occasionally be useful to turn it off, and get your next Special Attack a bit sooner.

    Thanks,
  • Rock Field against Havok: building Plasma
Rock Field against Human Torch: NOT building Temperature

    Explanation?

Havok's ability states that he gains a Plasma Charge "each time Havok receives Energy Damage", while Human Torch gains Temperature from blocking or being hit by attacks that deal Energy Damage. Since Rock Field's damage isn't dependent on an attack that either hits or can be blocked, it won't raise Human Torch's Temperature.

Looks like a change since the numbers in the game matched what was in the spotlight.

@Kabam Miike , can we get a change from “up to X” where where X is a theoretical value not likely to be achieved and make these “from X up to Y” so we know the floor values. Not a huge change and it would cut down on confusion and questions about whether someone’s damage is bugged.

  • Are the changes in vs mode permanent for terrax only the top 50 will earn him there is not a top 800 like previous champions

How come terrax is the first cosmic champion with no fury?? corvus and proxima are also an exception, with true damage and prowess, which both give extra damage. Terrax is clearly lacking damage, why no furies?

Is there going to be a buff to Terrax attack, with the way it is, he might be weaker than Ebony Maw..

Terrax is actually deal more damage than Maw. It's just that his damage output is not enticing the players.
