Corvus charge

Hey guys. I've seen a few times now, that my Corvus doesn't gain a charge when he finishes an auto block/ evade champ. I finish him with a heavy or SP like it says, after the defender used his evade or auto block, but i gain no charge from it. Anyone experienced the same thing lately?

Is Proxima on your team when doing this?

No, but she don't have to be, to get to 4 charges alone. She only turns true damage into true strike. I think??

I just finished Spidey, with a heavy, and had zero charge on Corvus, then i checked after the fight, and still had 0 charge on him for the next fight.

You CAN NOT finish off the champ with Heavy or Special to initially get that charge.

You have to Knock them DOWN (but NOT KILL them) in order to get the charge (provided they have already evaded or auto blocked).

Thanks a lot. I understand now. I read, or remebered the charge wrong, as for knocking an opponent out.

Yeah, you might have gotten it mixed up with Cull’s charges, which do happen on KO.

Another thing..... while i was on Act 6 chapter 1 somewhere around 6.1.5 or 6 1.6, i noticed only once that i had 30 crit hits countdown in the corner before cooldown, instead of the normal 20 Corvus have.
Was that a glitch? I only noticed it once.
It was very weird and i could even get to use 2 SP2s before the first cooldown started.

You were fighting an Avenger after you'd already completed the Avenger mission and gotten that charge.

Sorry. Thanks, i get it. I'll go read them again.
I really didnt know you gain 10 extra on an avenger then after. That was the first time i got a 2nd avenger after an avenger charge then i guess? Never noticed it before. Guess i should learn to read before i ask, right?
    Thanks guys.

The knockout blow should count! This is very frustrating. #BUFFCORVUS

Usually once u knock them down after they evade the mission will show up next to your champs icon. If u start the match with 0 missions completed, it will change to 1 during the match once they are knocked down. It's a good way to tell during the match if it's worked.

If the heavy or special is the killing blow it won’t count, damage occurs before the knock down

You also need to hit them with the 3rd swing of that heavy. The first 2 swings of his heavy don’t count. You could miss them but as long as you connect with the 3rd and final swing it will count. I hate fighting miles and nightcrawler because it seems like they get hit with the first 2 and evade the final every time. And like everybody said it can’t be the killing blow.

That's because the stun timer expires and their abilities activate. Has nothing to do with which hit of the heavy you land. Just how fast you can get the heavy off before the stun timer expires.

Right. Like I said they evade the third swing. So you gotta keep repeating until you hit it or kill em. You’ll never have a long enough stun to cover all three swings. So you rely on luck to hit that third. What I said is you have to land the third hit to get the charge on Corvus. The first two don’t count.

Or you can also use a Parry then SP1 (if you have a bar of power) to Knock then down before the stun would wear off, so you don’t have to take a chance by using the longer duration Heavy Attack.

(although I confess, I typically always try to do the Heavy, forgetting that SP1 might be easier).

Nah mate. It has to be a heavy attack to get the charge.

No, you just have to knock them down. This can be accomplished with a heavy or a special. Either work.

Wow you’re right! I’ve been using the heavy forever to do it and never realized a special could work too! Thanks for the new info!
