Can Stealth Spidey get his fury against a debuff immune defender?

As you know, we have debuff immune nodes in AW, so I was wondering if Stealth Spidey is able to get his fury, even if he cannot apply his pre-fight debuff on the defender, which should come before you can get the fury on yourself. I haven't dared start the fight until I'm 100% sure, for he would be useless if he cannot get the fury...

My Hand Slipped... A BIG NO!
ARRH NO He can't since only when a debuff is replaced by another he gains Fury...
Although He can gain Precision by Activating a SP1

Nope, I brought him in against Mole Man thinking "Hey, this will be great! The slow debuffs will destroy this man." Then I went in to the fight and immediately remembered he purifies debuffs. I was able to pull it off and get a one-shot, but Stealthy's damage was mediocre at best.
