Dr. Doom Vs. New Storm

So when using 5* star doom in fight against the new storm I used sp3 got the fury but couldn’t steal power on light attacks after that because ability accuracy reduction (which I understand). Then I quickly get back to a sp3 and use it. Should have 2 fury buffs but instead have none. I get that maybe the second one may not have activated because of ability accuracy but what about the first one?
