Variant 4 exploration was a very fun experience.

My account is fairly casual, though I play somewhat frequently. My alliance only runs AQ 2 or sometimes 3, and we are a silver 2 alliance in AW. I have been cavalier a long time, and ran a decent amount in Act 6 until I decided to start the variants. I started with Ultron's variant and it has been a rough road. It took about 3,000 units to fully explore the first 2 chapters, and then came the nightmare that is chapter 3. I threw probably 1,000 units in to just getting exploration on chapter 3 quest 1 as my science/cosmic class outside of quake is lacking greatly. Basically just quaked everything, even starburst nodes and it was not a fun time. I was planning to fully explore it, but kept hearing about variant 4 being a decent variant so placed variant 1 on hold.
I haven't had this much fun in a while, probably since running my second account through to cavalier with very low level champs. Perhaps, the highlight of my entire run happened on the absolutely worst chapter Chapter 1.2, which I decided to explore last. My main champs were all locked up in AQ and AW as the new season started yesterday and we ran map 3 yesterday to hit the next milestone. I ran some very questionable champs in to the chapter, Archangel (r4), luke cage (r4), angela (r4), heimdall (r3), star lord (r4). Not exactly the best, but somehow managed to get through the mighty charge champs with 0 revives. and I think 2 on the boss as luke cage managed to basically dominate with essentially 3 lives (indestructible, heimdall, indestructible again). I was really hyped after this and then did it again on the power gain node when I switched out AA for Human torch. Truly legendary moment was when star lord took the havok down to 20% so Angela could get the finish. Anyways, I really enjoyed the entire variant outside of a bit of salt the first time around against the 1.2 boss on completion. Also, was nice to see some of the guys that don't get used often to have a nice go at it.
Typically, I am fairly heavily negative against the newer comment, but this was one I really enjoyed.
