Wolverine x23 pi decrease after ranking from rank 3 to rank 4

as title, i rank up my x23 from rank 3 to rank 4 the pi jumps from 3022 to 2999 , please help...

Yep also have to my nephew. Rank 3 to 4, please look into this as he work hard to Rank up, only to find the Champion got less powerful

Any likelyhood a boost was in used which expired after level up?

Wolverine does this also. They said it was intended because ranking up increases his regen rate to balance the loss of health and attack when ranking up.

Makes no sense, but neither does black bolts recoil or iron patriots burnout at this point in the game,
