A Tie?

So I just had a war end in my alliance in a tie (my first ever) and I'm trying to figure out how one alliance gains in the war rating and the other loses in war rating? How does that work because it doesn't make sense to me.

Attack bonus may have something to do with it?

Because they higher rated alliance didn’t perform as well as they should and the lower rated alliance performed better than expected.

Taking a “shot in the dark”, continuing that thought in above...

Did you happen to check what your “potential +/-“ would have been for the war (before it finished) ?

Because you are the higher WR, you would have had a higher “negative potential” for a loss, compared to a smaller “positive potential” if you had won.

And I’m just guessing that the difference between those “if you won” vs “if you lost” was probably 8 difference. And that opponents (opposite +/- because they were the lower rated team) probably had a 7 difference between their potential +/-.

As in maybe you would have got +50 if you won, but would have had -58 if you lost, and a TIE gives out the difference between those potentials.

Oh I gotcha... Since they were rated lower but performed on par with us, they get the boost in rating. Alright that makes sense
