Idea for a possible redesign of all the "defender takes 90% less damage unless..." nodes

So, we all know these nodes as they especially crop up in act 6. The nodes i'm referring to are any node where the defender takes 90% less damage unless you inflict them with a certain debuff / you have a certain buff active on you. These nodes include acid wash, caustic temper, special connoisseur etc.
I feel like I have a pretty simple idea that could just make the community hate the nodes less, because doing 90% less damage a lot of the time can be pretty annoying. How about, instead of dealing 100% damage for doing the required task (e.g. inflicting a poison debuff on acid wash nodes) and 10% for not: focusing it on +50% if you do, and -50% if you don't (the details could and probably should be reworked instead). That way you are effectively dealing 90% less damage, or similar to that for not doing it, but instead of just being punished, you are rewarded for doing the task. (So you would deal 150% damage for doing the required task and 50% for not). That way you'd still be encouraged to bring (for the acid wash example, a champion that inflicts poison debuffs), but it is not completely required. And like with the grandmaster fight and the wounded mechanic, would psychologically make the player feel rewarded, even though comparatively nothing will have changed with the node statistically.
Or if that's a bit too far and rewarding for the summoner and not a hard enough challenge, it would be nice if it just became a 50% damage reduction, like in Act 5 Chapter 3, and Variant 3.
Obviously I'm not a game designer, and don't fully understand the logistics of how this would work, and i'm fully aware it could be a terrible suggestion. But yeah, personally for me this seems like a relatively simple change that many summoners will enjoy.
