The Thing interrupted my special attack!

Four times - twice with Black Panther and twice with Yondu - The Thing was able to interrupt me during my SP1, actually preventing the third hit from landing (both of those champs have a 2-hit + 3rd delayed hit special 1)

All 4 times, it happened while The Thing was unstoppable, once while he was unblockable.

I understand that he would have hit me as soon as the SP1 ended, but it should be impossible for him to interrupt the animation and prevent the hit from landing.

This happened in my alliance's current AW.

Did he actually interrupt your SP1, and hit you back before you even attempted the final hits of your SP1 ?

Sounds like maybe just Unstoppable, which yes would prevent him from taking damage (or even being moved back by the hit) from your SP1 hits if he is Unstoppable.
But that is generally not considered “interrupting” which is more of actually counterattacking during (or just before) the other person's attacks (like interrupting opponent's multi-hit Heavy attack with attacks of your own).

Or also, because Unstoppable, your hits were not really landing, and (maybe similar to if the person was out of range when your SP started), they would be able to make moves of their own even while your SP1 was still going on because yours was not actually hitting them. (We get to do that to opponent all the time).
