An even split, interesting ...I miss the strategy of placing defenders and feel it nerfed the defense too much not to have any element of surprise. I feel visible tiles is not the main reason, but still is a contributing factor to 100% AW clears being the norm now.
Personally, I love knowing what champs Ill be facing from a class stand point. Makes my job much easier and allows me to bring a more Diverse group for attack.
kabam has made exploration easier so more alliances can get the max 5* shards even when they loose. Previously, even a loss would not provide you the max 5* shards because the loosing alliance would not explore enough of the map.
I can see the point of everyone wanting easier rewards, but if the challenges and defensive surprises are removed it becomes a grind instead of a challenge.
I used to have fun setting up defense, now its a chore and as an officer i don't enjoy trying to enforce diversity across 3 bgs, the game should do that automatically with the nodes supporting diversity, not a quota forced upon us and officers to have to threaten to kick players for using the same defenders they spent all that time ranking in the old AW. It's just not fun dealing with AW placement anymore.
Update: had hidden tiles for all but boss and miniboss tiles once my alliance regained the tier where there are links from the miniboss to boss. Tier 10 (?) I think . Was a big step up in difficulty and we lost to a better alliance but it definitely made it a lot more interesting and was sad to see it go when we played the next round.

It's a nice thing to know which class it is though
