Not getting points for alliance help event

i already got max daily loyalty (1000) from helping with alli help request.
And then there is an alliance help, alliance event.
I'm not getting any point for the alliance help event despite helping after daily loyalty is maxed.
I think before this latest update (v28.0.2), i've gotten some points for the event even when my daily loyalty is already maxed.
Is this change intended?

The alliance help event specifically states that it only works up to your daily loyalty limit, if you already reached that in a day you cannot get any points towards the help event on that day. Since the loyalty cap is refreshed at 6pm PST you can still get points for the event the second day, or even that night.

The events are on a set schedule so you can plan for them.
