If you don't have the roster or skills to do it, then it's not for you
Huh? Use your common sense big guy. You don't have to defend Kabam about literally everything. This is not about having the skills or roster, it's about common sense. What kind of common sense goes into making a 1.4 million health Silver Surfer with insanely niche nodes (need a consistent armor breaker or coldsnap immune) AND you can only use 4 star champions. 4 STAR CHAMPIONS. The last time I've upgraded a 4 star champion was a long, long time ago. And all of this for 3k 5 star shards?! Pathetic.
It's optional. You don't have to do it. They made a challenging quest to make us think outside the box. It's free to try and you can attempt it as much as you want. I tried it and after a couple attempts, for sure not going to waste my time on it. They said all along that this was supposed to be a very hard challenge.
Think outside the box? In what way? Literally the only requirement for this fight is skill and a cold snap immune champ. Colossus is going to own the leaderboard since he’s the hardest hitting coldsnap immune champ.
Coldsnap immune is not the only way to go. There's a much larger group of Champions that have access to Armor Break, and that ability does not activate when Armor Broken. I am definitely not the most skilled player here, but I found the most success with Medusa using the Karnak synergy. One heavy attack and that ability is finished for the whole fight.
You’re spreading lies now Miike. I tried three times with medusa only to get coldsnap everytime off the first hits. Pictures as proof...
Yup still not worth it lmao...fail of a company to promote an event just to lead to disappointment. Oh well easy pass, complete everything else but I’ll leave this garbage.
Should have kept the event just for youtubers, since that’s the only people trying in the competition part.
Actually, I just tested it. He was right. Get a Heavy off first, and no Coldsnap. Another option is Pyramid X with Ice Tempest Pre-Fight.
The way Showup difficultly was marketed and portrayed was kinda misleading and bad. It was portrayed as something for everyone, a bit challenging, but doable and rewarding without having to toss an unfathomable amount of revives, potions, boosts, and rank up materials for 4*s.
The exact words were "This difficulty is just like the Showdown Difficulty with some key differences. You will be able to bring in a team of five Champions with the ability to use boosts and consumables. Scores completed in this difficulty will not be entered into the leaderboard and/or the official Summoner Showdown Tournament."
That said, I understand why people are upset. When we see content in-game, it's easy to view it as all the same. Every piece of content serving the same purpose, with it being account progression. That's not the case here. This is supplementary content that is a celebration of the Summoner Showdown and went live in a month that already has extra content like the Boss Rushes coming every week, and the Solo Objective tied to the Side Quest.
Regardless, I have made sure we've raised this sentiment to the team.
If not for account progression, what purpose does it solve exactly? Who benefits from doing this show-up difficulty? Who has genuinely had fun doing it? It’s just a colossal waste of time for most of the playerbase including the players who are competent enough to take SS down..
If you don’t call it a cash grab then what is it honestly when someone like seatin who is one of the competitors from last years showdown used more on this silver surfer than he did on some abyss content.and if you compare units to money he spent probably 30$ to 40$ in revives for 3k 5* shards ....limiting the champs you can use this much even with allowing 5 champs compared to one doesn’t add up when saying anyone can try .... a person been playing this for 5 years such as myself and someone playing a year aren’t on the same playing field and I spent more on this one fight then I did in a lot of LOL or some abyss fights I did. The difficulty for the actual show down part is right to me with it being that hard to weed out the best but show up I thought was meant to let people have fun and grab some nice loot.. why is it the same fight on both difficulty’s ... if anything make it the same fight with lower health pool.... in Seatin’s own words it’s a dang whale event

Even if that sentence was put, there clearly wasn’t enough emphasis put on it. The word “everyone” was used so many times in nearly every, if not all, forms of advertising for the show up difficulty making the imprint in our minds that this wouldn’t be an absurd labyrinth level fight with mere 4*s and crazy nodes. One sentence doesn’t fix that.
I joined seatin’s stream late, he was already doing showdown and I was like "phew I'm glad I don't have to worry about that fight, show up will be much easier." went back to the beginning of the stream to watch show up, saw it was the same fight (pretty much) and immediately hopped onto the forums knowing full this thread would already exist.
There is literally no point in show up because anyone who is good enough skill/roster wise is gonna be doing showdown instead. Big L.

I tried 3 times, parry-heavy and got 1-2 coldsnap before the armor break was applied 🤷♂️. He’s lying about how it was instantly perfect. It’s not.

Sorry, but at what point does this stop mattering? You guys ignored our feedback for ages which eventually made you scrap your plans for an entire new Act and spend months developing a roadmap for fixing the game.
It's disappointing to see you guys already veering off-course before much of the Roadmap has even been implemented.

Don't Parry. Dex and Heavy when you have a window.

Its the entire paragraph, it tells you what you will be able to do differently. How much emphasis do they have to put on it.
The fact that they force you to rank up champions you’ll probably never use again is the thing that kills it for me. It’s just plain stupid or malicious. Take your pick.

Nobody is saying that you should do that. If you don't have Champions to use and don't want to Rank any up for this content, then don't! It's not necessary to beat and is not going to keep you from progressing in-game.

Yo Kabam, here's a bright idea for participation lvl. 1. Make this an inclusive event that most summoners feel up to. 2. Instead of making each boss extremely hard, why don't you make each one a different difficulty? 3. For example, Silver Surfer is the easiest one at 60-75k health, available for players lvl 25 and over. The rewards are 3k 5* shards and 250k in gold. 4. The hardest one is Iron Man IW at 150-175k health, available for players lvl 45 and over. The rewards are 10-15k 5* shards and 1mil in gold. 5. I have seen even the highest rank players struggling to select the right 4*'s to use, so why aren't all champs just available? I just feel you could have given the lower lvl summoners something to do instead of shoving them into a challenge that even the highest lvl players feal uneasy about. This is my fav game, I hate seeing mistakes like this, you may not be able to fix it now, but in the future think about every summoner.

one event in a month full of events is not going to ruin it.
I understand the 4* restriction for the challenge but how dumb it is to limit to coldsnap immune champs? Not everyone has them and/or would waste resources to rank one up to 5/50. I'm out.
Ok let’s say you have mad skills and beat SS for a grand total of...3k 5* shards. Why be so stingy Kabam?
The part where it's available to everyone is just for fun. The real point to this whole thing is the actual tournament for the big prizes.
Even though it’s a bs fight, good rewards can make up for how hard it is. 3k 5* shards is clearly not enough motivation for a “fun” 1.4M coldsnap SS. And again, Show Up was said to be more casual for those who don’t want to/can’t participate in Show Down. If the tournament is the only thing that matters, then why is there even a Show Up difficulty??? To milk the whales (and the dolphins)???
If you don't have the roster or skills to do it, then it's not for you
Mmmm, that's good stuff. Man, your relentless, aggressive negativity and troll comments have been giving me life lately. This forum's own Andy Kaufman. Always good for a laugh. Keep up the good work!
So... all this hype for this ?! Sometimes I wonder if you are on the same planet as everyone else Kabam. You really need to put your feet back on the ground. Earth, I mean.
I went in, looked at the rewards, the nodes, the health pool, exited, and I'm going to pretend this stuff isn't even in the game.

I see you are behind and did not actually read about the fight itself, here is some help, it is not limited to cold snap immune and the champ most people seem to be using is not even cold snap immune.
In terms of compromising without affecting difficulty, would it be too difficult within the game's functionality to not lock out people's rosters from other content for this 4 star exclusive event? Or toss players some units for the clear attempt/s? I'm willing to play the difficulty, but there is no point in trying if it's going to lock me out of completing other content for a few weeks having to leech units wherever I can get them in game. I personally can get a good chunk, like 20-25% off from each 5 champs attempt with a cheese comp I have but I can't really justify 500+ units for the show up rewards that I can leverage elsewhere; I can't one shot it because Silver Surfer is buggy as hell (though not as bad as Vision Aarkus, oh lawd please patch him already). I would rather save them for the Omega smackdown coming - since it was stated to be extra long - and variant chapters. Idk, maybe a larger % of people would be comfortable with leaving the difficulty, since armor break also works, and feel less upset about the difficulty itself if it was less of a resource sink for not playing perfectly/attempting it while still experiencing the challenge.
I was excited for 5* shards and 2M gold. Thanks for confirming early that "participation" event is a BS cash grab meant for only the elite of the elite at this game. Im going back to Forza Street.

Exactly. I never expected to be able to win the tournament but I figured they would at least give the rest of us something to do. 3k 5 star shards for the people who can beat this is nothing.

Do you agree they shouldnt make it Counter Based ? doesnt matter if u skilled and dont have the right counter
