To qualify for AW season ending rewards does attacking only count towards participation?

I was wondering if you have to place BOTH defenders and attackers to count towards your 5 wars to qualify for season ending rewards. Of if you can just be an attacker OR defender?

    Why would you not do both? Your ally needs your defenders and their diversity. If it were my alliance, I wouldn't let you hang around for 5 wars if you skipped placing a defense that many times.

    Yes. Participating in any way, Defense or Attack, counts.
