Treasure Island "Random Mutant" champs are not so Random

I keep retrying Legendary quests and the same Mutant champs appear, Storm Pyramid X as the random mutant in the Path, and Emma frost as the Boss. Which results me into failing the path, and missing out on 15k 5* shards

There’s no energy cost, so you are in a rare situation of being able to figure those champs out without losing anything.

However, I suspect you can wait to get another entry, chose a different difficulty, and reset everything by beating it. I assume that works.

Nope, beating a different difficulty only re-rolls the boss for THAT difficulty. So, yes, you will have to beat Emma, and then hope re-roll results in different boss next time on that difficulty.

But as to other mentioned point, you don’t actually need a key to do a run that you only want to face boss. Going straight center gets you to a hard boss with full health (just no rewards other than hopefully changing the boss on that difficulty for next time).

I did the legendary difficulty twice in a row, for two different paths, and got red magneto both times for the boss. So, yes, there is still some "bugginess" to the treasure island quest.

I finally beat emma, with only using 1 revive and a health potion, then got cable and archangel, then I went head on with cable and beat him again, and now I got iceman... RIP my chance of getting 15k 5* shards. Because I'm almost uncollected with 2 5* and 3 r4 4*. Guess Legendary difficulty is not so "casual friendly"

You are not uncollected and complaining about the hardest difficulty? Good on you for having a crack but if you can't beat it suck it up.
