Magneto hater

Hey guys, so magneto is now a beast, no doubts there, I have him as a 5 stars and if i get him as a 6 star i'll rank him up as max as i can.

Now, taking aside the fact that he is now an amazing champ, I don't like the champ himself, I think it was really lazy from kabam just making him too OP only by giving him prowess like crazy and the obvious advantage against metal champs.

That's it.

I think what i'm trying to say is that compared to the other bufffed champs he doesn't seem like having a big change other than damage. Take as an example, hulka, spider gwen or hulkbuster, which not only have more damage now but also a lot of utility and some mechanisms that make them interesting to play.

I know most people won't agree with me and that's fine, I just had to say it.

He has tons of utility. Have you read his abilities? Takes 90% less damage from shock and bleed, unstoppable heavy, burst or energy damage from heavy, damage caps, not to mention the fact that if the the opponent is metal they stand literally no chance.

Magneto is supposed to rule the champs with Metal.
Kabam can't give every champ metal tag because of game balance.

70% AAR, 50% perfect block chance, ignore auto block and miss, passive heal reversal, extended stun duration, bleed and shock resistance. armor breaks replacing bleeds if bleed immune, class advantage nullification, increased attack rating, unstoppable heavies, with sig you get... a protection mechanic, burst damage on heavies, increased block penetration, and crit resistance. That’s waaaaay more than just increasing his damage lol.

Pre buff he hit like a wet noodle and all he did to metal champs was reduce ability accuracy by 40. They did way more to change him than just prowess buffs.

The narrative in the OP that Kabam didn’t do much to change him is factually false. Magneto is not “too OP” he’s not even a top 3 mutant and he should have an obvious advantage against metal champs because that’s his character design. It’s literally his super power. Kabam did an excellent job of designing this character and making him true to his comics self, and I give them a thumbs up.

My only issue would be his Main Playstyle, I always enjoy Heavy Spam sets but we've just reached a point where so many of the Buffed Champions and even Current/Older Champions just have that same Main Playstyle and I'm just looking for something new... (Cap IW, Colossus, Magneto, Hulkbuster, Archangel, Carnage to an extent, Domino with Red Hulk, ect)
Not saying there's anything wrong with this Playstyle or that it needa to be changed, again it's one of the more enjoyable ones for me, I just feel it's starting to get overused.

I think Magneto is perfectly balanced tbh. He absolutely smokes the match ups he’s designed for and he’s OK for the ones his abilities aren’t tailored toward. I think that’s the benchmark of good champion design, he’s most comparable to HT in his specialisation aimed at a specific set of parameters.

The only thing I’d have liked would be a graphics overhaul but he doesn’t look bad, he’s just a bit less sparkly than some of the new additions to the game, but that’s always going to be the case.

Aside from the magnetism passive and his animations he most definitely was designed from scratch. Remember he’s an mcoc character, they can’t just throw everything they can possibly think of into his kit. They’ve chose to focus on what he does the most, which absolutely crush metal opponents like they were nothing more than a tiny ant. If you read the description of his abilities you would know that his unstoppable and protection effects come from his force field ability in the comics.

2- His animations would have looked different
3- Access to Unstoppable and other effects (possibly immunity to reverse controls) would have been accessible through a Force Field in the fight and not just the description
4- They could have come up with a ramp up mechanism too (charges, etc) to further enhance the Force Field or activate other abilities

If you find it creative, then I'm glad you see it that way. But Parry-Heavy playstyle with a top up on Prowess and massive Shrapnel bleed on the SP3, is not creative enough for me. And yes, maybe the shiny and squeaky animations may have made a difference for arguably one of the Top 3 Villains in comic book history. He deserves it all after all.
