How about each month there's a recurring event where the player gets to use each of the new champs for that month against a single defender. Different rewards are given depending on which Star level the player chooses to use. It would give players a chance to play around with the new champs, it will be completely skill based since it won't require anyone to have "the best champ" for a certain fight because we'd all have to use the same champs, it will also reward skill since a better skilled player might be able to beat the defender with a 3 star, but someone who is a little less skilled might need to use a 4 star and if someone had the skill to beat the defender with a 1 star then they get huge rewards.
