understanding tech node in cavalier difficulty

I don’t understand what this node combinations means at all. Can someone shed wisdom?

You drain the defender’s power when you have an armor up as a tech. They gain extra power though from hits and every time they throw a special they get a power gain speed increase. They also gain damage for how much power you have. You want a tech with an armor up for the quest
