Nekazaritza (Post Act 6 / Persistent Charges Concept) - Oct 5, 2020
How do you create a demon? –Grow them.
How do you grow them? –By planting seeds. (Don’t ask where you get them…)
Where do you plant these seeds? –In humans. Not to be confused with Inhumans.
Do humans have to be willing in order for the seeds to grow? –To a certain extent, yes. A being that is non-compliant will reject the seed from their body.
How do you prevent them from rejecting the seed? –By giving them the means to attain their goals. Power…
Mephisto, a nefarious extra-dimensional demon, intends to bring another demon into the Battlerealm. Unintended champions brought into the Contest could wreak anarchy for the Elders and those playing the game.
Many Summoners are unaware that Persistent Charges are seeds that spawn demons. It should not be a surprise as Mephisto was the first champion that showcased this ability in the Battlerealm. He would later bore this power to Morningstar. Although she was not the first champion that the demon would offer this power.
The demon of the Contest now looks to reap the evil fruit from his labor, and plant more seeds in unknowing champions.
Mephisto –Buff/Add: At the beginning of the fight, Mephisto steals (1) one Persistent Charge from the opponent and adds it to his own. If Mephisto steals (1) one Persistent Charge and he is at max (6) six, he instead activates his Aura of Incineration for the rest of the fight.
Terrax was the first champion Mephisto would come across. Removing a Persistent Charge from the Birjan and a Herald of Galactus had adverse effects. Terrax having a Power Cosmic (1) stolen created an imbalance within, causing radiation to leak from the remaining Power Cosmic Charges.
Terrax – Buff/Add: Rock Field. While Rock Field is active, nearby Opponents also lose Persistent Charges (25)% of current charges, rounded to the nearest whole number.
Loki, the god of Mischief, was luckier with his run-in with the demon. After the unsuccessful attempt to sway Loki, he in-turn usurped the technique for himself.
Loki – Buff/Add: Special Attack 1. Steal (1) one Persistent Charge to activate the Debuff: Curse on the opponent. Curse can stack as many times as there are Persistent Charges stolen.
